He’d be getting over 2-1 so unless he had a stone cold bluff with a hand like 2-7, he was probably going all the way. But, could he have a hand worse than 10 high? Anyway, I thought for 995 I’d call and see the poker flop with my suited connector. I don’t know where this came from as my plan was to shove. Then a baby flop came out, eight high, he shoves and I feel obligated to call with overs and runner runner draws. He had K,5 no pair no draw and it held. How did I know what was going on and still play online poker the way I did. I wanted to prove that he was bluffing, but and it cost me my tournament. I could have folded to the 3bet and it would have been fine. I could have waited to cash and then open back up. Or I could have gone with my instinct and tried to push him off. I went in the middle and it was the worst poker online move possible.

So, I’m playing in an online poker tournament recently and I get dealt K-7 in the blind. Two people call, I check. I like getting weird hands like K-7 in the blind when no one raises, it lets you have a little fun and see what happens.
Anyway, the flop comes down K-4-2. Great, I’m thinking, this could be a nice little pot. So both other players check to me, I make a nice sized bet, the first guy folds and the second just calls. I thought that was a little weird, so when the turn card came out J, he checked to me and I checked this time, kind of wary of what he might have. So, the river comes and it’s another 4. he makes a pot sized bet to me that just didn’t see right. I didn’t think he had a 4. if all he had was 4 something, why would he even be in the hand, much less call my bet on the flop. Anyway, something smelled fishy. If this were a pro I might’ve acted differently, but I just got the sense this guy didn’t know what he was doing. So I called, showed my pair of kings, and all he had was J-10! Why would he even call my bet on the flop, he didn’t even have a draw of any sort! Anyway, the jack on the turn sealed his fate because it gave him something to play poker online for. I always say, you end up losing the most money on those hands you know you should’ve folded long ago, but stayed in with for some reason. This guy fell victim exactly to that. It’s a valuable poker lesson.

Bad news for Texas Hold Em poker fans, and fans of gambling in general, who live in Singapore: a number of casino online that were supposed to be built in the country are facing troubles due to the global financial crisis. According to Reuters, Genting International, the overseas arm of Malaysia’s Genting Bhd, and Las Vegas Sands are reportedly facing more cost overruns on their online poker casino-resort projects in Singapore. Genting International said that its Resorts World at Sentosa, which is scheduled to open early next year, will cost S$6.59 billion compared with the previous estimate of S$6 billion, Reuters reported. Genting had originally projected the cost of the project at S$5.2 billion. Las Vegas Sands Corp has also been hit by spiralling construction costs in Singapore, The Straits Times newspaper said on Friday. In loose games, often poker players will try to chase down the wild players by taking any semblance of a hand and come aggressively at them, then hold their head between their knees and hope the hand holds up. While often you can get your money in marginally good in this manner, you are setting yourself up to take a hit when the odds do turn against you. Instead, for the most part, long run experience has shown that tightening up even further in the face of extremely wild players can be more valuable, as you are able to bend the odds so far in your favor by picking good spots, that the inevitable suck out is minimized so well that you can sew up your pots and not end up having to push in on a coin flip with you 77 against 8 J just because you are tired of folding the medium pairs for all the money. Tighten up, and let them come to you, rather than playing bounty hunter, and often you will walk the victor.
