Chinese Lantern Fools UFO Watchers
Chinese lantern appears to be the most prospective culprit behind last week’s UFO video secret.Harborough singer Robin Maughan shot footage of a mystical object over West ave park in the sky in Harborough on Monday last week.Last weeks Harborough Mail featured the story, half-a-dozen calls to the office by subscribers who had also seen the unknown airborne object.However, as with prior sightings relayed to the publication in 2007 and earlier this year, A chinese lantern is the likely and more believable reasonMichael Williams said he saw 2 people on Farndon Road near his property freeing a lantern briefly before Mr Maughan shot his video at about 10pm.Barnard Gardens occupant Barry Loakes, notified the publication to say he was pretty sure that the object in the sky was in truth a chinese lantern.The three-foot tall lanterns several lanterns released during a birthday bash at a home in Lubenham Hill, Harborough, in February 2007 instigated a UFO uproar and the same affair happened earlier this year when a Kettering Road resident released one.However, Trevor Jones saw the latest UFO while he was dog-walking in the common and disagrees with the lantern theory.Mr Jones, of Morris Road, related the object to a jellyfish and recalls seeing a similar object one month prior.An alternative possibility was explained by Maddy Ward, who saw the video and supposed it looked like the International Space Station crossing the sky.
