If you have ever been to Anchorage, AK then you know that this is a place of never ending beauty. From breathtaking glaciers and mountains to viewing the northern lights, Anchorage has so much to offer its residents. The one thing Anchorage doesn’t offer its residents is much opportunity to soak up the sun. With its extreme cold temperatures, the summer season in Anchorage is very short lived. Residents can, however, take advantage of home tanning beds. With a home tanning bed, Anchorage residents can get the sunlit glow that Californians get on a daily basis.
There are numerous versions of tanning beds to choose from, and you may be surprised to learn that best home tanning beds are really good for you. There is a myth that tanning beds are bad for your skin. The truth is that home tanning beds have come a long way in recent years. You can get a beautiful tan that is as real as if you were under the sun on a daily basis and not have to worry about your health being adversely affected.
If you’re a native Alaskan, your tan almost certainly needs some work. Although you may be kayaking, salmon fishing or glacier climbing, Anchorage’s cold temperatures can leave you little pale. The Internet is full of some of the best home tanning beds around. Take some time and do some research and you’ll be sure to find the bed that is right for you. You no longer have to be from a state like Florida or California to get a sun-kissed look.

So don’t let the Anchorage chill get you down. Give yourself a lift with your own tanning bed. You have nothing to lose and plenty to gain.

The perfect gear and the right court are necessary for a terrific game of tennis. Below is an outline of the basic essentials.
Tennis Racket Assortment: A well weighted, skilfully designed racquet is an outstanding investment for good tennis. 50 to 100 pounds invested in a tennis racquet of nationally recognised quality will be money well spent. The handle of the racket should be small. A circumference of four and a half inches is recommended for students.
Most of the new tennis rackets balance heavier in the grip than in the head for faster action. When getting a racquet, the player is recommended to swing a couple different racquets & identify the one that seems to suit them.
Protection of Tennis Racket: The racquet should be put in a press and watertight case at all times when it is not being used. During the winter the racket is suggested to be packed away in a dry place, where no dampness can get at it. Or else the fibres are very likely to decompose and the frame bend. Enjoy excellent tennis and discount sports equipment offers on the Internet today.
Balls: Wright & Ditson, Spalding, Wilson, Dunlop, or Pennsylvania balls that contain the current & and official seal ought to be procured as frequently as needed. Tennis balls are useful only for a specific period of time as the felt cover remains undamaged, & the bounce is just the thing.
Tennis Nets: Cotton tennis nets (costing roughly twelve pounds) are satisfactory for occasional use in the sports hall or improvised lawn tennis courts.
Outdoor tennis nets should be built of tarred hemp, with a strong canvas top, & steel or rope cable. If strung on a steel cable, the tennis net can certainly be left kept out over night without loosening, alternatively with a rope cable, the tennis net should be slackened each & every night. Nets will last a substantial amount longer if they are taken indoor at night & when it drizzles. A good tennis net is likely to cost approximately twenty to 60 pounds. Steel nets, 100% weatherproof, are increasing in recognition especially for winter use.

No Need For BSL- Breed Specific Legislation
Written by: Rachael Stacknick
Member of: www.web-rover.com
In short breed specific legislation is a quick fix for a growing problem, only thing is it does not fix the problem.
Many cities, countries, states and provinces have now jumped on the band wagon to implement BSL. Most recently Ontario and there
ban against “Pit Bull’s”. What people do not realize is that it will not stop here, the bites will not stop, the government will not stop
banning breeds. Sure ok, they get rid of pit bull’s (which i do not agree with), so maybe the bite statistics will go down for a while. Then people start getting
other dogs (of any breed) and start training them to fight and attack…..what do you do now? It is a vicious cycle (no pun intended)
that will never end. Some places have even brought in hyenas and apes and are training them to take place of their fighting dogs!……..It all comes down to the
government making a hasty decision and not listening to the experts….and irresponsible ownership.
So what is irresponsible ownership you say???
Well, this could be a long explanation, but I will try to keep it to the point. Irresponsible ownership primarily is:
1. Irresponsible breeding
2. Leaving your dog outside chained up with no human contact(or very little)
3. Training your dog to fight
4. Not giving your dog proper socialization with all kinds of people varying in age colour and sex
5. Walking your dog off leash in public
6. Not Spaying and neutering
7. Not keeping your pet’s shots up to date
8. Not having your dog licensed by the city
9. Not keeping your dog on a proper diet
10. Not having a properly fenced yard
11. Not having your dog obedience trained
(These are in no particular order)
These are just things off of the top of my head…..there are many more, but most of it is common sense or at least should be.
Do not get me wrong though. I am so very sorry to the people who have been severly injured by a dog or have lost someone
because of a dog attack. But this happens with all breeds of dogs, from the smallest to the largest. We only hear about the
bites and attacks from those dogs that are on someone’s hit list…..primarily, pit bull’s, rottweilers, dobermans, german shepherds,
and akitas. We dont normally hear about the chiuahiua that bit jimmy last week and drew blood, or the shihtzu that bit julie last night and drew blood (names and breeds here are just an example)…why don’t we hear about them? Because they are not on the hit list……yet. Every dog has the capability of severly injuring someone….they all have the same set of teeth, so the criminals, drug ops and so on will keep training whatever dog they can get a hold of to be there attack dog’s, and soon, when there are no more dog’s they will move to another animal…..surprise surprise.
Yes, there are some down right bad dogs out there, they have a screw loose in the head. These dogs should be immediately put down, and never ever bred. But again this is with any and every breed, just like humans there always seems to be a couple in the crowd that are a little weirded out. We have phsychiatrist’s, behaviourist’s etc etc that try to help these dogs, if it is to no avail then the dog will need to be put down, in this way you are saving yourself and your family and also putting the dog out of it’s misery.
(people are sent to a hospital or a halfway house to receive help).
Remember, dogs are pack animals. They love to be near their masters, no matter what. If you treat them well they will obey and this
is one of the way’s that they show their love and respect for you….if you treat them badly…well who knows where you will end up, but let me tell you…it will not be a very nice situation.
I hope I have changed some people’s views on the subject. The fight against BSL is a passion for me, I believe I am a responsible owner but I am still learning everyday and so is my dog….we have a strong bond that will never be broken because of one of us…..and I dont want the government to break that bond between us either.

The greatest benefits of ownership is knowing that your property will be there when you need it, but ownership of a pet requires a different type of security measure. Because, pets are living creatures with minds of their own, they have a tendency to want to explore new things, and this often encompasses wandering off and not knowing how to return to where they started. This dilemma poses a unique problem for their owners inthat their pet is out there alone, and they are depending on the kindness of strangers to reunite them with their lost pet.
Now, every pet owner wants to have a sense of security that their pet will be returned if lost, and this is evidenced by the popularity of various identification techniques, such as pet tags, tattoos, and pet microchips. But, all of these means of pet identification have their limitations, and those limits are based on the fact that the owners’ information will not change, and that the finder knows how the pet is tagged. Although the most recognizable form of identifying a pet is the pet tag, this method is also subject to the limitations above, but a company called RecoveryPets.Com has rectified this problem.
The pet tag is not a new invention, nor is it high tech, but it is still the most recognize means of identifying a lost pet. Now the use of the pet tag has been revolutionize by combining the pet tag with a unique identification number and the internet, this company has effectively created a means to recover lost pets that will never become obsolete. And, by compiling a database of registered pet owners on the RecoveryPets.Com website with their contact information, the pet tag now provides a true sense of security for pet owners concerned about their pets wandering away.
RecoveryPets.Com provides their registered pet owners a location to place their contact information prior to a pet being lost, which will save them time in the recovery effort, plus it increases the chances of a quick return. So, a listing of the pets complete description, a full color photograph, along with up to ten methods to contact the owner is the base of the services provided by this company. Along with this service they provide the pet owner the ability to update their contact information free for the life of the pet.
Providing a sense of security that if a registered owners pet is lost they will have a better than average chance of being returned in the first six hours is the mission of all pet recovery services. But, a pet tag along with the services provided by companies like RecoveryPets.Com can make this low-tech device the new revolution in pet recovery. It’s a scary feeling any time a doctor tells you that you’ve got any kind of chronic disease. At first your mind wants to reject it, and then you gradually give into the shock of realizing that you actually do have something up with you. Even if you’ve been exhibiting symptoms for a while, your problem just isn’t set in stone until the doctor tells you those fateful words : I am sorry to tell you, but the tests came back positive.
When the diagnosis is Tardive Dyskinesia, it truly should not come as any surprise. In truth, it could be a relief, because when you know what the difficulty is, there are thngs you can do to reverse the condition, and you definitely wish to do that. Perhaps you have been afflicted by the embarrassment of your tongue popping out of your mouth every few seconds or of making hideous scowls that are out of your control. You could have had a lot of distressing physical symptoms, such as neck cramps or involuntary twisting of joints. Do not accept anybody when they tell you that you’ll just have to live with the problems, because they would not need to if they were in your place. Instead, here is what you can do.
To start you can learn everything there is to know about Tardive Dyskinesia class action lawsuit. Sometimes it’s just great to have somebody you can talk to about your condition who will understand and offer recommendations for what you need to do next. Contacting the Foundation will put you in contact with caring folk who can help. You may also visit their site at www.dystonia-foundation.org.
Another group that may be able to offer you the data and help you want is We Move which is a support group for people with movement disorders. This organization has groups thru the world. You will find the nearest group by visiting their website at www.wemove.org. People who have developed Tardive Dyskinesia have filed successful suits, and plenty of other court actions are in process. If you are diagnosed with TD after taking Zyprexa [ Olanzapine ], Risperdal [ Risperidone ], Seroquel [ Quetiapine ] or many other neuroleptic drugs, you could be in a position to file a lawsuit looking for compensation to help you suffer thanks to the losses you incur because of the filed successfully against doctors prescribing medicines known to yet TD. However, it’s yet to be seen if court actions against the giant pharmaceutical companies who produce the drugs will be settled in favor of patients.
There are several doctors who have analyzed TD and know the right kinds of treatments that will reverse the indicators of the disorder and bring relief to patients. If your family physician isn’t able to provide you this sort of assistance, you can contact a psychiatrist instead who has experience dealing with the complications of anti-psychotic drugs. Additionally, you may find a neurologist can efficiently treat your Tardive Dyskinesia.

Even if you are not a cat person, bear with me, this story goes far beyond cat mania. Our little tabby cat was frightened and highly-sensitive from the day we rescued her from the SPCA, two and a half years ago. No doubt being jailed there for four months messed her mind. As we came to learn “Shylo’s” nature we renamed her “Shybaby.”
Practice Patience, Breathing and Being
Extreme patience was the first virtue Shybaby taught us. We would have to be still, with arm out stretched, finger pointing toward her, and wait for her to rub by our finger numerous times before she would deem to move in closer. Closer contact would have to be her move, not ours. If we rushed this timely greeting she fled. (Often this time consuming ritual was far too much for our teenage boy!)
Yet, if we, and particularly myself (as I must admit that little cat really came to dote on me) were too impatient or too busy to spend time with her, Shybaby became even more skiddish and frightened. Intuitively she knew when I was lost in my hyper, anxious “I have so much to do and so little time” state, as then, Shybaby fled from my energy. Seeing this I would stop, sit down, and practice breathing and being - my “kitty meditation.” As I calmed down, kitty calmed down.
Couldn’t we all benefit from a little more “kitty meditation” in life? Firstly, noticing when we are anxiously driving ourselves and then, practicing patience with ourselves, and breathing and being?
Precious Present Moment
This sweet little soul also taught me the preciousness of each moment. As usual, she leaped upon my bed this morning - with her uncanny knowing the moment I had opened my eyes - to give me her love greetings. I relish her affection even more so today and with a heavy heart knowing she is to die tomorrow. My little girl cat is in the advanced stages of liver cancer, no longer eating, and there is naught else we can do other than love her.
So, this moment with her is so very special because I know it will never be repeated. Soon she will be gone forever from our lives. With bitter-sweet revelation I understand this to be the truth of each single, present moment. We only have each moment now, this once, to fully experience and enjoy it, and then it is gone forever. I am chilled by how carelessly we forget this - rushing onto the next thing, consumed with past and future thoughts - missing the only moment we have!
Keep Things in Perspective
Also, I have my cat to thank for helping me keep things in perspective. Yes, there is a deep hurt in my heart knowing cancer rages in her body and soon she will be gone yet, I am deeply grateful it is not one of us. Our lives have already been scarred by painful losses caused by cancer.
Yet, we are now deeply grateful as my father-in-law seems to have won his recent round with cancer. With much relief, we are no longer visiting him in the cancer ward. I am losing my sweet, little cat but my loved ones are here.
Do Your Best to Keep Loving, No Matter What
Little Shybaby has barely eaten in over two weeks. Although a small cat, she used to have a roundness about her that is lacking now. Although we know we can no longer selfishly delay her death - wanting one more day of her sweetness - it is so hard to let her go. I am amazed at how this little animal - despite illness and lack of nourishment - seeks to be near me and to heal me with her loving purr even now. This too is Shybaby’s legacy on leading a happy life: Do your best to keep loving, no matter what.
So let us all remember the teachings of the wise little Zen master, Shybaby:
1. Practice Patience in All Things
2. Practice Breathing and Being
3. Live in the Precious Present Moment
4. Keep Things in Perspective
5. Do Your Best to Keep Loving, No Matter What

I went online and performed a a couple of searches for what I would be getting with ATT Uverse in comparison with what my other company provided, the station line up and the price. Fyi, if you are searching for an ATT Uverse Code, there are some affiliates of AT&T that you can get neat deals with.
There were many packages offered. I discovered that I liked the 2nd pack which allowed over 220 stations including 38 premium stations, every local station, and thirty-four digital music channels. It also included 3 receivers, one with DVR at no extra charge. The charge for the plan (without my discount) cost $68 (+ $25 for Internet). I was paying $70 a month to TW for less stations and only premium channel. I did not get a DVR - just 1 box. There was really zero difficulty in determining that AT&T represented the top pick, and so I made the phone call and placed my order..
The AT&T tech made it to our home on the day we set. I was told a 2 hour timeframe to be home and he arrived 2 hours after that. I ordered two receivers, he arrived with only the DVR. He told me to telephone the central office and arrange a different installation day for the 2nd receiver, since his info showed I ordered 1 and that was all they shipped him out with. The installer did work quickly and once the assembly was all over he spent some time to explain how the DVR and remote worked. He also unplugged the DSL and made the wireless router, made certain I was able to access to the Net, and left.
It has been some time now since ATT U-verse was installed. I am really happy with the A300 pack and the smorgasbord of stations. Everything is easy to use and I love the DVR. You never need to miss a program you enjoy since you just tape them and view it when you have time. The Internet connection is another story. For those of you who aren’t computer savvy it might be a really frustrating experience, particularly the first time you lose your connection, it may not reconnect, and you can’t work out how to fix it. The safest thing you can do when you order ATT U-verse is make certain you ask the installer about the wireless connection, how it works and what you should do if and when it goes out. Also, remember before you order the service, if you’re searching for an ATT Uverse Code some affiliate sites offer some pretty great individual sales!

My acquaintance Ace calls me on the telephone to tell me that he has found some online gambling web sites that I must have to look into. I’ve never really been big into gambling, but I figured O.K., I will give it a try out. So I tried out some poker and black jack, but honestly, they simply aren’t my thing. So I see these on-line e-lottery web sites and then I realize that over the internet I can play lots of several lotteries around the world. Right Away to me this appears a good deal more pleasure, hence I imagine I may give it a go. Initially I tried out my luck at euro lotto, you know a European lottery. I chose my lotto numbers and awaited and hoped that I may win it big. I didn’t only when the euro lottery results came out; I was extremely surprised to realise that I had in reality come very close to the winning lotto numbers. I sought out a couple of other world lotteries, but I found that I had come so close the first time on the euro millions, that I just had to give it one more go. Now to date, I haven’t won a bucket load of dollars, but then, I have won some money, so I carry on playing the euro millions and picking lotto winning numbers, hoping to get my big break. I am one of those individuals who like to think in the likelihood of hitting the jackpot, because it’s tough to reckon getting that sort of money any other way.
As for my friend, he still carries on with his passion of internet gambling and finds himself at the on-line casino for at least an hour at a time. He likewise has won some money, but it has high’s and low’s and the difference is, when you lose at gambling you usually lose a good deal but when you lose at the lottery, it doesn’t cost you as near as much. I think that the lottery is the only way for me to go foreward plus the idea of winning it big and on top of that, it’s only costing me just a couple of bucks “makes it more appealing”

Feed him a balanced diet.
Additional tips from owners include:
Give an occasional yogurt treat
- Ask your vet about giving Boxers calcium tablets as they could have some problems later on in life!
- Keep him comfortable so his immune system can remain strong.
- Boxers are shorthaired and sensitive to extreme elements of the weather and thus must be kept a housedog. His shortened muzzle also makes hot and humid weather uncomfortable for him.
- Give Boxers lots of exercise and regularly.
- Remember that he is a big and strong breed and requires physical outlets for his boundless energy and high play/prey drive.
- Walk them three times a day or have play sessions. Provide plenty of space for them to bounce around. You want to keep their spirit up and not break it or they won’t be the dogs you fall in love with in the first place. Healthy and happy Boxers are a joy to live with.
- Make a breeder your friend.
- Keep in touch with the breeder who sold you the Boxer. The breeder can advise you about care and health matters that are unique to the breed. Any Boxer breeder, for that matter, can be an invaluable ally to you throughout your Boxer’s life.
- Guard your Boxer from fleas.
- Your Boxer has fleas if you find black specks in the fur or fleabite marks on the skin. A tip given by an owner is to give your Boxer garlic daily to prevent fleas.
- Boxers catch fleas from other animals. It is an every day problem that, at some time or another, you can expect to encounter in your Boxer.
- The fleas only go to the Boxer to feed on its blood.
- Fleas mostly live and multiply in your home. The comfortable living - central heating, double-glazing and, best of all, the fitted carpet - we create for ourselves and our Boxers also work best for the fleas.
- De-worm your puppy every month and your adult Boxer, every six months.
Worms is another everyday problem in Boxers but the puppy is more likely to get sick from worms than the grown up Boxer.
The sick one would lose weight and become weak, suffer from upset stomach, poor growth, listlessness or even lung trouble.
They may impede your puppy’s growth and cause him to have a potbelly or be thin and have a shoddy-looking coat.
Your grown Boxer may not be showing any sign of worms but he could spread them more than the sick puppy, through large amount of larvae or eggs passed out in the feces.
If your Boxer has tapeworms, he has fleas too because part of the tapeworm life cycle occurs in flea as the host. As such, treatments against flea and tapeworm are normally prescribed together.
Some, like the roundworm, that infect dogs can also get passed on to children.
In more serious cases, your dog will catch cough, pneumonia and develop lung problems.
There are different types of worms that infect dogs such as tapeworm, roundworm, ringworm and heartworm. De-worm your Boxer puppy every month and your grown Boxer, every 6 months.
Puppies get sick from worms, more so than dogs.
But your infected grown Boxers help spread the worms more through their droppings that would contain large number of larvae and/or eggs.
Released into the surrounding, these larvae and eggs could infect other animals and even children.
The tapeworms have a flat, segmented body.
You see them as single segments or chains that resemble segments of rice in the droppings of infected canine.
Part of the tapeworm’s life cycle occurs in the flea as the host.
Therefore, if your Boxer has tapeworms, it has fleas too and the treatments for both are usually prescribed together by the vet.
The roundworms (toxocara) live and produce hundreds of eggs in the intestine.
They cause digestive upset in puppies, poor growth, and thin or out-of-conditioned coat.
The infected puppies may become listless, have a potbelly or tucked in appearance.
Once the roundworms migrated from the gut to the lungs, your Boxer can suffer lung damage, cough and pneumonia.
The roundworm eggs in the dog droppings get passed out and about.
These are very hardy eggs, resistant to heat and cold, and can survive up to 7 years in the soil. The eggs can pass on to children through ingestion and cause them to fall sick as well.
As precautions, you can toilet train your Boxer puppy to use a place where you can easily clean up and dispose of the droppings into the sewer. Have your children wash their hands every time after they handle the puppies and discourage your puppies from licking people hands or faces.

You do clean your house don’t you? Well you have to clean your Goldfish’s house too and it’s a lot simpler! Cleaning and maintaining a goldfish tank is a must because this breed is really dirty. Even a teenager’s room would be better than a goldfish tank that’s left alone for a week! The Goldfish are descendants of the scavenger Carp fish and that makes them scavengers too. They will eat a lot, which means that they will produce a lot of fish waste that will degrade the quality of the water. More than a complete overhaul of the tank, you will need to give frequent weekly cleanings.
How do you use a siphon to clean your goldfish tank?
You will need to use a siphon to clean your goldfish tank because it efficiently cleans up the muck, does not disturb your fish and is easy to use. It’s essential to use during the partial water changes. A typical aquarium gravel vacuum would be a wide tube attached to a narrower siphon tube. By cleaning the gravel every week you would get rid of a lot of substances that could turn toxic for your fish over a period of time. Here’s how you begin the siphoning process:
* Put a bucket on a low stool or even on the floor in front of the fish tank, and place the wide end of the gravel vacuum in the tank.
* Now gently suck at the other end and hold it over the bucket. Once you feel the water flowing into the tube let it flow into the bucket. Be careful not to swallow the water though- but even if you do, it isn’t going to be harmful!
* Now that the siphon has started, use the wider end to suck out the dirt and debris out of the gravel and flow out of the tank into the bucket.
* Pass the vacuum end over all the gravel and keep doing so till you have removed 10 to 15% of the water.
* If gravel gets stuck in the vacuum, release the gravel by plugging the other end of the siphon tube with your finger or thumb.
* When you want to stop the siphon just raise both ends above the level of the tank
* To stop the siphon, simply raise either end of the siphon above the surface level of the fish tank.
There are gravel vacuum that can be attached to a faucet but this would mean that you be putting back tap water directly into the tank which might not be good for your goldfish if there is a marked temperature difference. Also you would be adding all the chemicals present in the tap water without allowing the chlorine to evaporate. The best option is to keep a container of fresh water overnight.
The Weekly 10-15%
Cleaning your tank is essential to your goldfish’s well being. In fact, both your plants and your goldfish need fresh, clean and healthy water to survive. All you need to do is set aside a little time every week to do what is called a Partial Water Change or 10-15% Water Change.
This weekly routine will not only keep your aquarium look nice and clean, it will keep your goldfish healthy. Partial water changes are no sweat - all you have to do is scrape the algae, vacuum the gravel and replace the water you remove with fresh water. Here’s what you need to do:
* Remove the algae on the surface of the tank with an algae scraper before you siphon out the water.
* As the name suggests you need to remove 10 to 15% of the water from your aquarium.
* There is no need to remove your fish to a separate container.
* As you remove the water use the siphon to remove the messy deposits in the gravel.
* In case you have an under gravel filter, then you would have to clean the gravel during weekly water changes.
* Do not take out all the ornaments and decorations and scrub them clean because you might destroy some of the much-needed beneficial bacteria that act as natural biological filter.
* You can clean the filters during the weekly water change but do not change all the cartridges, sponges, carbon packets, etc., as this might remove all the good bacteria and harm your goldfish in the long run.
* Also remember to rinse any new filter media in cool running water before introducing it to the system.
* Once you have siphoned out 10-15% of the water and most of the dirt and the alga, it’s time to replace the amount of water you removed with fresh, dechlorinated tap water which has been left at room temperature over night, in container free of soap residue.
* Use a siphon to transfer the fresh water into the tank as this would be a gentle way to put the water back in and it won’t disturb the plants and the gravel. You would also spill a lot less!
* Do make sure that the fresh water is of somewhat the same temperature as the water in the tank. You cannot just dunk in cold water because Goldfish are not tropical fish.
Do remember to leave enough space between the top of the water and the tank hood so that your goldfish get enough oxygen to breathe in.
What not to do:
* If you see that the level in your aquarium has gone down, do not simply add water to make it level again. This is harmful, as you are not getting rid of the impurities in the water. You are just adding water without removing the dirt and thus making the water harder and more difficult for the goldfish to live in. So don’t add water to top off the tank, do a partial water change.
* Never add water directly from the tap. Please keep a separate container only for aquarium use and leave the water overnight so that the harmful chemicals and chlorine evaporate.
* Please do not skip weekly water changes because if you do not partially change the water, you are allowing the build up of waste products like Nitrate that are not removed by the filter, and contribute to the growth of algae.
