All Susceptible to Spyware
If you are one of the millions of people who own a computer and use the Internet, you can get spyware. All are susceptible, none are exempt. It doesn’t matter how careful you are. Even if you visit only the most trusted and respectable websites and download software exclusively from the big-name companies, you can still get spyware. It becomes important that everyone knows how to remove spyware, though it’s easy to fall into the trap of assuming your computer will be fine. Analogously, anyone could get into a car crash, but not everyone takes the time to learn what to do in such an emergency situation. Don’t allow spyware to eventually lead to a crash of a different kind.
Though some spyware is more obvious than others, don’t forget that one of the defining characteristics of spyware is that it is sneaky. The “better” the spyware, the less detectable it is by the average computer user. Don’t think that you can avoid learning how to remove spyware just because you are cautious. Suspicion is not a sufficient enough weapon against spyware. Some toolbars or other programs that are attached to certain free software downloads could be considered adware or spyware. However, it’s not enough just to make sure you uncheck the box to download the additional program or simply stay away from certain freeware altogether. You can still unsuspectingly get spyware in other, stealthier ways.
