Letting Go and Letting Be

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2008 — Posted in Spirituality Tips

In Corrogue it is frosty.

The earth is hard and unyielding. This reminds me of how our hearts often become. They become cold and we ourselves become frosty. The flow of our energy is blocked. “The soft animal of our body” which is mostly water becomes hard, unmoving and unyielding. Then we enter “times of trouble.”

These words “Times of trouble” are from the beautiful song penned by Paul McCartney entitled “Let it Be.” This song goes as follows:-

“When I find myself in times
of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom,
“Let it Be.”

Often when we find ourselves in “times of trouble” the last thing we want to do is “let it be.” We want it to be fixed. We want it not to be the way it is right now. We are like Brer Rabbit who fights with the Tar Baby. The more we fight the more entangled we become.

One of the greatest lessons in life is the lesson of “letting it be.” This is a lesson from the energy of the Divine feminine. In this song the energy of the Divine feminine is represented by Mother Mary. It could as well be any other wondrous representation of the Divine feminine. In China it might be Quan Ying. In Ireland it might be St Bridget. In Tibet it might be the Goddess Tara. In all times and all cultures she comes to those in trouble if they are willing to receive her wisdom.

Often in times of trouble we are the ones who create our own trouble.

We have not learned the art of non-attachment. This is a great art. It is a lifetimes practice in the avoidance of suffering. In the West we think non-attachment means non-feeling. Essentially it means focused disinterest. It does not mean you do not care. You can care greatly but be detached from the outcome. Do the best you can do and then “let be” and “let go.”

Detachment allows for love in action.

This is allowing the free flow of the energy of your body to express in the way it needs. Detachment requires trust and deeper trust. It is the surrender of any outcome to the grace of the Beloved. You simply do not get entangled in the way something turns out. In the vast scheme of things how are you to know.

If you worry you attract worry. If you are anxious you attract anxiety. You are a channel for the energy that you put out. We create your own world. We are all fields of energy vibrating in a vast network of eternal energy. This is the eternal energy of love. We call this by the name God, Goddess, or maybe Universal mind. It doesn’t matter what you call it as it is only “what it is.”

Often in “times of trouble” we do not allow the answers to come to us. The heart has hardened and the flow of wisdom of the Divine feminine is blocked. Mother Mary is there waiting. Quan Yin is waiting. The Goddess Tara is there waiting. They are always there waiting. It is part of our journey to “be open.” We learn to “let go” and “let God.”

Our journey in life is to learn to know who we are.

There is a paradox here. We learn to know who we are by knowing who and what we are not. We give up identifying with all that we are not. When we let go of who we think we are the Blessing is here. We stop losing our life’s energy. We stop trying so hard to make what is already alright be all right. We stop losing life by refusing to save “our life.”

Letting it be is an insult to the ego.

It is affronted by the idea that when something is wrong it should not take control. We are simply required to do what we can do without attachment to results. When we trust the universe we are essentially trusting in ourselves. The deeper the trust the deeper the connection to all there is. The deeper the trust the less trouble you will be in.

You begin to know and trust, “What will be will be.” You begin to trust in your ability to co-create. You are as a hollow bamboo and love plays her song through your allowing heart. You become a co-creator of love in action. This is not “your love” but the play of the Beloved through you.

This is wisdom. It is not the wisdom of the ego. Wisdom and ego are separate. Wisdom is. It does not belong to “little me.” It is a free flow of knowing. It is allowing the wisdom of the soft animal of your body to do what it loves.

This wisdom comes from the free flow of energy in the body. It is your body of wisdom that flows freely unfrozen by resentment, bitterness, anger, or hatred. These are the energies that block our life force and cause us to be “not at ease.” Wisdom is the refinement of all these “grosser” forms of energy. The word “gross” in this sense is used by way of description and is not to be considered a judgement.

We often need to express such energies in a safe and caring environment. Such energies are not to be condemned. They are to be given freedom of expression so “the soft animal of your body” can be in balance again. We need to find our personal Mother Mary’s or our personal Soul Friend or Friends who will be before us in our “times of trouble” and allow us to “let it be.”

Their gift to us is non-judgement, non-attachment and non-doing. They sit with your soul. Sometimes they appear fierce because they are not out to flatter your ego but to keep your feet on the path of this journey into love. They teach you the alchemy of transformation. They teach you that you are forever enough. They teach you to “let it be,” “let it go” and “let it God.”

They teach you that the Blessing is already here and that you are it. This requires you to know who you are by giving up your attachment to all you are not. You surrender all you think you are and maybe one time you will be amazed. You will be amazed at how beautiful and wondrous you are beyond the prison of ego.

Origin Of Acne Is Still Unknown

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2008 — Posted in Beautiful You

The origin of pimples/acne is still unknown. There are still a few issues, which have not been brought to light. Nobody exactly knows why the pores collapse and pack the sebum content within the skin. Researchers have not been able to find as to how this process spreads from one sebaceous gland to another.

Acne is a skin disease, which is created by the clogged pores on the skin. It is a major problem for millions of teenagers, both male and female. It makes a person depressed and so proper treatment is necessary.

Though pimples are just a small bump on the skin, the effects could be traumatic on some as they lose self-esteem among peers. It is advised to get it treated with the help of a dermatologist who would recommend proper medications, which would heal and prevent acne. Proper care like cleaning the face after jogging, traveling etc are recommended. Shaving properly, avoiding sun and choosing the right cosmetics would help a lot.

Acne is a condition which 90 percent of the population goes through in their teenage years. For some this condition continues till their middle age too. Never pluck the acne as it could leave a mark on your face. The best way to counter this condition is by being health conscious and maintaining cleanliness.

Paul has been providing answers to lots of queries through his website on a wide variety of subjects ranging from satellite phones to acne. To learn more visit http://www.askaquery.com/Answers/qn1641.html

Whitewater kayaks

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2008 — Posted in Sports Management

Whitewater kayaking is an extreme form of kayaking.

Whitewater kayaking is kayaking taken to an extreme. This is
basically the combination of whitewater rafting, except that you
are in a kayak instead of a raft. This sport has been gaining
popularity in recent years, and has even been included in the
Summer Olympics of 2004.

Whitewater kayaking is definitely not for the faint of heart, as
it generally involves some of the roughest rivers around. People
who go whitewater kayaking should have a lot of experience
kayaking in rivers and rough water. They should also make sure
that they know exactly what type of kayak they need to use.

The kayaks used for whitewater kayaking generally need to be
sturdier than most other kayaks due to the beating that they
will probably get from being in the river. Two person kayaks are
not used for whitewater kayaking because it’s too dangerous to
have more than one person in the kayak while going over
whitewater. The single person kayaks themselves can vary between
whether or not they’re short or long - this generally depends on
what aspects of the kayak the person kayaking wants to emphasize.

There are several different types of whitewater kayaking as
well. If you’re just going to be whitewater kayaking for fun,
then you’re more than likely just going to be something called
“river running.” What this means is that you take your kayak and
go down a whitewater river. These rivers are generally not the
roughest, and there are sometimes some flat parts as well as
rapids. River running can either be a day excursion, or it might
be a week long adventure down a river. This is a great choice
for somebody experienced in kayaking.

Some people find that it’s fun to participate in playboating or
rodeo. Basically what this entails is staying near the same part
of a river and using the same rapids to do tricks. This is a
much harder part of whitewater kayaking, so it’s less likely
that you’ll find somebody who knows how to do it.

The last thing that people usually think of when they think of
whitewater kayaking is what is known as “creeking”. This is the
most extreme type of whitewater kayaking, and involves taking a
kayak through some of the roughest whitewater in the entire
world. This type of kayaking is usually done as a part of some
sort of competition, or by people who are looking for an extreme
whitewater kayaking experience.

No matter what type of whitewater kayaking you’re looking into
starting, make sure that you’re prepared for what you’ll be
doing. Since whitewater kayaking is an extreme form of kayaking,
you need to be sure that you’re following all of the safety
advice, and that you have all of the necessary kayaking
equipment.

Fibromyalgia Pain: How Using Visualizations May Bring You Relief

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2008 — Posted in Living With Medicine

There are many theories about what causes fibromyalgia. One is that it’s due to an overly stimulated sympathetic nervous system. Here’s some background on that system and how you may be able to use your subconscious to help calm it down.

If you have fibromyalgia you know only too well the bizarre collection of symptoms that can accompany this condition-pain throughout the body, fatigue, digestive upsets, cognitive problems, sleep difficulties, and others.

One theory that seems to account for most if not all of these symptoms is that they occur because the sympathetic nervous system is running amok. What is this system, and how does it manage to cause all these problems?

The Sympathetic Nervous System

The sympathetic nervous system is one of several nervous systems in the body. Here’s where it fits into the overall hierarchy:

The central nervous system (CNS) consists of the brain and spinal cord. It’s the seat of consciousness and provides central control of the body.

Complementing it is the peripheral nervous system (PNS), which has two parts. The first, the sensory-somatic nervous system, connects the CNS to the body’s outer environment. The second, the autonomic nervous system, connects the CNS to the inner world of tissues and organs.

The autonomic nervous system is further divided into two parts. One of them, the sympathetic nervous system, stimulates the fight or flight syndrome. The other, the parasympathetic nervous system, calms the body down after danger has passed.

In fibromyalgia, an accident or other trauma may somehow trigger the fight or flight syndrome into constant activity, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

• One clue that this may be so is that the primary neurotransmitter used to excite this behavior is norepinephrine, a chemical that is often found in abundance in the spinal fluid of fibromyalgia sufferers.

• Another clue is that fibromyalgia pain shows up in tender points, many of which are in the neck area. This same area contains a large number of interconnections for the sympathetic nervous system.

Hyperactivity of the above sort would explain the fatigue and sleep problems that go with fibromyalgia, and might also explain the alternating diarrhea and constipation that often occur. Lack of sleep in turn could account for difficulties in memory and concentration. The pain itself seems to be associated with the abundance of norepinephrine.

The Possible Calming Effect of the Subconscious

It may be possible to focus your subconscious on norepinephrine and the sympathetic nervous system through the use of visualization statements. These statements represent the specific language that your subconscious wants you to read back to it to help ease your pain. They’re simple and are targeted directly at the main factors that could bring you relief.

You can obtain these statements by learning how to communicate directly with your own subconscious mind. The process is straightforward and can be done at home by working with a facilitator over the telephone. You you need no special skills and no previous experience in working with the subconscious.

It’s possible to ask the subconscious about norepinephrine levels. Depending on your situation the subconscious will probably suggest visualization statements to help decrease this chemical to attempt to lower the pain level.

In addition, it’s possible to ask about making the Alpha-2 receptors of your sympathetic nervous system more receptive to catecholamine. Catecholamine is thought to produce a calming effect on the sympathetic system.

Other questions to the subconscious concern the immune system and the endocrine system, both of which may be implicated in fibromyalgia.

Programming the Subconscious

Fibromyalgia has no known cure, but the subconscious is quite powerful. When programmed through the very visualizations that it suggests you use, it may be able to turn episodes of uncontrolled fibromyalgia pain into events over which you have a degree of control.

Top 10 - Proven Oil Reserve Countries

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2008 — Posted in Science Tips

This is a list of countries with proven reachable oil reserves in billions of barrels, and is a rough estimate based on the ability to recover the oil by current technological and economical means.

Saudi Arabia - 262

Saudi Arabia is the largest exporter of petroleum in the world, and plays a leading role in OPEC, which stands for The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries; an international organization made up of eleven oil producing nations.

Canada - 180

Canada’s Athabasca Oil Sands Project is what puts Canada on the map in this list. Current surface mining techniques and in-situ methods to extract bitumen from the oil sands make for an overwhelmingly positive future for Canada’s oil industry.

Iran - 126

Iran’s economy relies heavily on oil export revenues, and as oil prices rise, Iran’s economy improves. Iran is in the process of diversifying by investing some of it’s oil reserves into other areas, such as petrochemicals; and is in the process of creating more favorable climates for foreign investment.

Iraq - 115

According to oil industry experts, new exploration may raise Iraq’s reserves up to 300 billion barrels. This has created global foreign interest to re-establish within the country. The US, UK, France, China, Russia, and Japan all vie for major concessions complicated by unrest in the post-Saddam Hussein era.

Kuwait - 102

Though the loss has been estimated at 2% of total oil reserves, Kuwait has recovered fully from the invasion of Iraq. The KPC, or Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, has grown to become one of the ten largest oil companies in the world.

U.A.E. - 98

At one time an underdeveloped region, by 1985 the UAE had the highest per capita income in the world. The largest areas of petroleum production occur in two of the seven constituent parts of the UAE; these being Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi qualifies as a oil state in the same sense as Kuwait.

Venezuela - 77

Venezuela is the fifth largest oil exporter in the world, and a founding member of OPEC. Oil output has been hampered at times due to protest and controversy, but the country remains an active contributor to the world supply of oil.

Russia - 60

Russia has the world’s largest natural gas reserves, the second largest coal reserves, and the eighth largest oil reserves. The country is the world’s largest exporter of natural gas and the second largest oil exporter. Reorganization of the Russian Energy Sector has shown improvements in the industry over the last few years.

Libya - 39

Though sanctions against Libya had been removed by United States President Bush and also by The United Nations, some Libyan authorities caution foreign optimism about prospects in the country’s socialist driven economy. Nonetheless, the removal of sanctions allows Libya to drive forward.

Nigeria - 35

Nigeria is the largest oil producer in Africa, and is a major oil supplier to both the United States and Western Europe. Proven oil reserves are expected to be expanded to 40 billion barrels by the year 2010.

Mortgages for Dummies: Home Equity Basics

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2008 — Posted in Great Real Estate Tips

As interest rates rise more homeowners are turning to home equity loans to payoff other high interest debt. Equity in your home is the difference between what you owe and what your home is worth. A home equity loan or 2nd mortgage is a means to borrow against this value.

One thing you must understand is that home equity is a loan. A home equity loan is like having another mortgage to pay every month. Home equity loans are secured by your home so you can get better interest rates than unsecured loans; however, if you fall behind on your payments the lender could foreclose and take your home.

The advantage of taking out a home equity loan or second mortgage is that as long as the loan is secured by the home you live in, the interest is a tax deduction. Consolidate your high interest credit cards and other debt and claim a tax deduction. Home equity loans are flexible, many will provide you with checks or a debit card to access your funds.

There are literally thousands of home equity lenders in the marketplace today. The mortgage industry is extremely competitive and lenders are tripping over each other for your business. These lenders range from traditional banks and credit unions to online lenders that specialize in home equity lending.

You can use the home equity loan for any purpose; keep in mind that it is your money you are borrowing and put it to good use. Many homeowners use home equity loans for repairs or improvements to their homes. Some people use home equity loans to pay for their children’s college tuition. Others use home equity loans to take vacations. It is after all your money; however, you do have to repay the lender for lending it to you.

From A to B in a Straight Line

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2008 — Posted in Management Hall

There are actions that will move you directly to your intended target and those actions that will give the appearance of producing results.

Do you even know the results produced by the actions you take? Do you have a clear sense of moving closer to the target? Do you feel empowered by the activities that you undertake each day? Are you left feeling exhausted from much activity yet feel like they’re a drop in the bucket compared to what you know is possible?

Once during a personal development program in which I was participating, the head coach asked me to sit down with her at breakfast on one of our training weekends.

I was asked how everything was going and if I was producing great results in the area to which I was committed. I was nowhere near my intended target!

My coach then asked me to move a vase of flowers in the middle of the table. After I did this, she replied. “See how easy and simple that was? However, that’s not what you do, Thea. You spend a lot of time shuffling the cutlery, moving the plates and cups and rearranging placemats on the table. Then you watch and hope like crazy, that the vase of flowers will move!”

That conversation was a wake up call and it’s one that I’ve never forgotten.

Today, when I see that not much is moving or the results that I want are not being produced, I take a look at the activities that fill my days and then get honest with myself.

This is what integrity is all about. Declare one thing and align everything in your environment to match it. Actions is just one of those to align; structures, systems, people, conversations, thoughts and habits are a few of the others.

If things are not going quite the way that you intended, stop and check in with yourself. Go for the straight line from point A to point B. The squiggly path is so costly and painful. Or else - drop the goal. Perhaps it’s not one for which you personally have an interest in pursuing. It may simply be that you’ve included it in your life because someone else thinks it’d be a good idea for you.

Prescription Eyeglasses Or Contact Lenses Which is Better ?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2008 — Posted in Health Hub

Many means have been used over time to correct vision. The
monocle and eyeglass on a stick came before prescription
eyeglasses that had first had limited styles. As technology
improved, lenses for glasses were getting smaller.

A lot of people were looking for eyeglasses to wear that they
didn’t have to worry about being lost or getting broken. Contact
lenses were great but expensive when they came along. You would
have to get new lenses if you lost them or dropped them.

Someone I knew lost a contact lens and developed an eye
infection. The doctor found on examination that the lens had
slipped out of place. Rigid contact lenses took some getting
used to. People wanted softer lenses that were flexible, and
easy to put in.

People wanted lenses they could wear all the time because the
softer lenses had to be removed and cleaned every night. As more
people were able to afford contacts because of the lower prices
they got sick and tired of cleaning them and the expense of all
the cleaning solutions needed.

It would be wonderful if contact lenses could be disposed of at
night and people could get rid of the cleaning solutions.
Disposable lenses came out in 1987 and were designed to be worn
for a certain period of time before you needed to dispose of
them.

There are terms and explanations that will help you understand
disposable contact lenses. Contact lenses that can be worn for
up to two weeks, discarded and replaced are called disposable
lenses. Frequent Replacement lenses are replaced anytime from
one to three months.

Every six months traditional/reusable lenses are replaced if not
before. You can wear Extended Wear lenses for up to two weeks
even while you sleep. The need for cleaning solutions is
eliminated with daily disposables because they are removed and
discarded every night.

Together with your doctor the right replacement schedule for you
will be decided on. How you wear your contacts will help
determine how often your will need to remove, replace, and/or
discard them. Day and night Contact Lenses - You wear these
lenses day and night for up to 30 days.

After they are removed you get rid of them. The best idea in my
opinion is the use of Day and Night Contact Lenses if you can
tolerate them. Think about what you can do with the extra time
you will have since you won’t be cleaning your lenses every
night.

You eyes will be healthier the more often you replace your
lenses. Your eyes could be come very uncomfortable and you could
become prone to eye infections because over time lipids,
proteins, and calcium could build up on them.

Some reasons to wear disposable lenses are for theatrical
purposes and color changer lenses are often used. Among the wide
variety of contact lenses available are animal eye lenses and
those with company logos. What are the benefits, if there are
any of disposable contact lenses?

Lenses are sterile and there is a lower risk of infections.
There is little time for calcium, proteins, and lipids to build
up on them. You will have clearer vision with them. They are not
to be used with any cleaning solutions.

Storing cleaning solutions and having them is no longer
necessary. The ideal lens for people with allergies is the daily
disposable lenses especially during allergy seasons. If you only
wear contacts a few times a week, these are great. If you wear
contacts only a few times during the week, these are cheaper.

If your lose them or you rip your lenses simply throw them out
and open a new package. There are greater benefits to disposable
contacts than there are to eyeglasses. Many carry glasses just
in case something happens to their contacts. Discuss the use of
any contact lenses including disposables with your eye care
professional.

He should perform a thorough examination of your eyes as well.
You can get a free trial period of wear for up to a week from
some manufacturers, if you do the research. You can get
disposable contact lenses from online and from traditional eye
care/wear places.

You need a prescription for contact lenses no matter where you
get them. You should know that not everyone can wear contacts,
only you and your doctor can make that decision. Make sure you
will be able to afford them.

Contact manufacturers for special offers and/or free trial
periods. Check out what lenses are available for your personal
prescription. You need to do what is best for you.

Future Business Success - What Does Good Look Like?

Posted by admin on March 29th, 2008 — Posted in Management Hall

When you know you need to shift up a gear, in any area of your business (or your life for that matter), it’s really important to have a vivid representation of what you are seeking.

Some call these “Goals“, others “Visions” and yet more describe it as a “Mission“. But there is one focused way to ensure that your path is perfectly directed to where you want to get to.

By asking the question:-

“What does good look like?”

…and applying that to where you are right now, you will easily see a path unfold.

That path is about the steps you will take along the way to achieve your Good - your focal point.

Struggling how to do this?

Take a sheet of paper and describe the situation where you want it to be at a defined point in the future (be very specific with this). Answer the question, “What does good looks like?” using as many of your senses as you can muster.

Writing it down:-

  • Unleashes your creativity.
  • Embeds it in your brain.

    and

  • Creates a ‘commitment’ for the future.

If you pin it up somewhere visible, you have every chance of making it happen.

And once you have these great descriptions, you will find the first step, the second and onwards to make it come true.
